in the Antholz Valley, east of Bruneck.
In 2004, the
sisters Michi and Angelika Schuster decided to realize their dream and share South Tyrol's natural wonders with guests.
The idea for the hut came from their father, who trusted the two of them with the challenge of revitalizing the dilapidated barn with stable and cooking hut.
The cooking philosophy of their grandmother and mother has shaped and inspired the two sisters -
down-to-earth, honest, regional and seasonal:

Using carefully selected recipes and seasonal, regional and pure ingredients, the HOCHRAUT Almbäckerei not only creates bread, but also cakes, strudel, ice cream and other desserts.
To ensure that this indulgent experience does not end with a guilty conscience, sugar and fat are reduced and no artificial ingredients are used.

Our alpine philosophy is geared towards sustainable living and working for generations. We are happy and satisfied with what we do and
grateful to our ancestors who chose this wonderful place and created this happy island in the forest with a great deal of physical effort and sweat.
We want to set a good example and be present as responsible people for our employees and our guests.
Conservation of resources, protection of our landscape, our own energy production from water and sun, respect for the environment and the work of the producers of our valuable food,
short transportation routes, waste avoidance, sustainable mobility options for employees and guests
as core themes of our mission.
